SKU LV-12-30-100

Our polyethylene sheets are available in roll form and available in widths ranging from 10” to 48”. Constructed from rugged HDPE the material is both puncture and tear resistant. The plastic is flexible and the lighter thicknesses can nearly make a 90 degree bend while retaining strength. The polyethylene sheets can be installed either above ground or underground and are designed to last for decades and can be utilized in a wide variety of different applications. The material features built in UV inhibitors which help the material to resist breakdown when exposed to sunlight. The plastic can be installed in both cold and warm climates while resisting damage or breakdown. The polyethylene is available in 100’ rolls and is made in the USA.

*The widest HDPE roll that we offer is currently 8’ (96 inches).

Please note that we are unable to provide custom roll lengths.

Connecting HDPE Pieces

There are two ways to connect multiple pieces of HDPE together. One method is to overlap the HDPE and use our double sided seam tape to connect the two pieces. The other method is to butt the ends together and use our 17 mil single sided seam tape to create a solid connection.

Overlap Method
(for underground installations)

The overlap method is best used when connecting two pieces of HDPE in a buried application. Due to the overlap, a ridge is exposed which is not ideal when installed in exposed vertical or flat installations in high traffic areas as there is a possibility of an object catching on the ridge and pulling the two pieces apart.

In a below ground installation, the large overlap area provides a more water resistant connection as well as enhanced protection against tree and plant root intrusion.

End to End Method
(for exposed installations)

When installing HDPE on a wall, floor or anywhere that is exposed, the end to end method provides a secure connection and does not leave any ridges exposed to potential catching by a person or object.

About HDPE Plastic

HDPE, or High-Density Polyethylene, is a very popular material used by manufacturing. It's used for many different kinds of products and is usually recycled to make a composite material for manufacturing. What is HDPE and how does it work?

HDPE is the abbreviation for High-Density Polyethylene.

High-Density Polyethylene is a polyethylene thermoplastic created from petroleum. When recycled it's sometimes made into composite wood or plastic lumber.

HDPE is a kind of plastic often used for making containers for milk, shampoos, conditioners, soap bottles, bleaches, and detergents.

HDPE is known for its large strength-to-density which means the maximum stress the material can stand up to.

The products made from Type 2 HDPE recycled plastic are Eco-friendly because they are usually made from post-consumer products and are then recyclable when they are no longer needed.

Post-consumer products are used to make HDPE for milk and detergent bottles. Approximately, 8 to 10 recycled milk jugs make up a pound of HDPE material.

What HDPE does not contain is BPA, heavy metals, phthalates, or allergens.

HDPE is considered the most environmentally stable plastic on the market. It does not give off harmful fumes that will enter the environment.

Creating HDPE requires only a fraction of the energy needed to produce iron ore and therefore contributes to the planet as Eco-friendly.

HDPE plastic is basically maintenance-free and resistant to moisture, salt spray, oil, graffiti, splinting, warping, insects versus many other products that are bad for the environment including wood or wood fiber composite products.

For the construction of a healthy building, it should consist of HDPE resin-based products for the most environmentally friendly building material.

HDPE is used to make toys, containers for food, drain pipes, food preparation products, and outdoor signs.

Tip: We also offer a grass parking mesh that is a great solution for light duty and occasional residential parking.

Once HDPE is recycled, it's available for profile lumber and sheet forms for popular outdoor products including waste and recycling receptacles, bike racks, benches, picnic tables, fencing, decking, and furniture.

HDPE products are used in many settings for hotels and resorts, colleges, and universities. Its also used by food services, retailers, golf courses, parks, and public settings.

On top of that, HDPE materials contribute to satisfying LEED certification. LEED is a globally recognized badge of achievement and used for buildings such as new construction and maintenance.
