Our Aluminum Garden Edging is a commercial grade, aluminum edging product that is made to be used in professional landscapes. This edging is made to be durable enough to withstand the demands of professional lawn maintenance and high volume pedestrian traffic. It has a high level of flexibility and allows for smooth curves and angles to be formed.

The Aluminum Garden Edging is most used for residential planting beds and is a good choice for curvilinear applications. It is easy to install and has a stake-less connection systems that snaps down to permanently interlock adjacent edging sections.

A well-laid-out yard uses edging to create boundaries for the grass and borders around the gardens. Before running out to buy edging, you should know there are several types to choose from. You can create the look you want for your yard.

Front Yard Edging

Wood

Wood landscaping edging will give you a natural and rustic look to your surroundings especially if you have trees. Keep in mind, wood is more rigid than other materials. You can create a perfectly straight line versus having curves. If you want curves you might want to choose a different material.

Brick

Brick has always been a look that spells English Country Garden, due to its charming, quaint look. Brick is similar to wood as it works best for straight edging versus creating curves. Even though brick is not good for customizing, it does offer a very classic look that never goes out of style.

Brick is a very sturdy material that can last a very long time, but bricks can come loose or crack from time to time. Also, if you live in a climate that is prone to frost, brick can be vulnerable under those conditions.

Concrete

Concrete is an incredible alternative for many home projects including edging. Concrete is not only sturdy but strong and you can customize it as you go along. If you want to create raised edges, get blocks around your garden or get poured concrete for a flat look making it easier to mow around the borders.

Stone

Stone edging will give you a natural, beautiful look to your landscaping. You can choose between large stones or a small stone mixture. Stone can be customized easily depending on the size and shape of the stones.

Stone is an excellent choice for a beautiful, organic look to your landscaping but keep in mind, weeds can easily pop up between the stones. You should consider installing a weed barrier before you start the installation of the edging. The barrier will help keep weeds down.

Metal

If your taste runs sleek and modern, metal edging might just be the answer. You will create a crisp clean line between your garden and grass. The interlocking metal edging can be stiff so consider the flexible version that comes in rolls if you want a curved edging.

Keep in mind, metal will create a patina from being exposed to the elements. The upside, the patina could add a wonderful touch to your landscaping.

Rubber

Rubber is made from recycled materials including tires. It's a great option for edging, especially if you are environmentally conscious. There are several varieties of rubber to choose from for edging including vertical pieces, edging that lays flat on the ground, or rubber mats to place around the base of a tree. These mats resemble mulch but without the upkeep.

Rubber is good for straight and curved edging. You can also install round rubber mats at the base of your trees. Rubber is not the most durable choice for edging but it's better than plastic.

Mulch

Even though you can apply mulch for a sharper border, mulch unto itself serves as a border for flower beds. In order to make a neat, clean line where the mulch ends and the grass begins, you should create a small trench by using an edger, shovel, or a spade to cut into the lawn along the border. Make sure the cut is approximately 6 inches deep and 4 to 6 inches wide. Pile mulch into the garden bed then let it taper off into the trench. It will make a sharper line that will be easy to mow around.
